What is S.O.S. Permesso: a non-profit and self-funded project, aimed at foreign people living in Italy.

Why it is needed: S.O.S. Permesso was born from the realization that in Italy there are no websites that are complete, up-to-date, reliable, easy to navigate and easy to understand.

Our mission: we believe that every person living in Italy has the right to understand the laws that affect them. We want to give foreign citizens reliable, up-to-date and understandable legal guidance on residence permits and related matters, such as international protection and family reunification.

💡 Our values

  • Completely free: All information is free and accessible
  • Completeness: we want you to find all the information you need here, on all residence permits.
  • Clarity: We transform "legalese" into simple words. We don't use the complicated language of courts: our goal is for you to easily understand how things work in Italy.
  • Up-to-date: Content always aligned with the most recent laws
  • Inclusivity: Designed to be accessible to everyone
  • Collective: We believe in a collaborative approach and everyone's contribution: if you want to report an error, give us feedback or collaborate on the project, contact us!

📚 How we work

All information you find here has been validated by an expert team that works every day in the field of immigration law. We don't improvise: we study, verify and constantly update our content.

What you find on the site
