You will need:

• The application number (you can find it on the receipt)
• Your tax code

The number consists of:

• Province code (e.g., MI for Milan, RM for Rome)
• Numeric code

• In lavorazione (Processing): Your application is still being reviewed
• Convocazione in Questura (Police Headquarters appointment): You need to go to the Police Headquarters (Questura) for an appointment
• Pronto per il ritiro (Ready for pickup): Your permit is ready! Go to the Police Headquarters (Questura) to collect it
• Spedito (Shipped): The permit has been shipped to your address
