Permit for Sports activity

What is this permit?

The residence permit for sports activities allows you to stay in Italy to carry out professional or amateur sports activity. It is reserved for foreign athletes who have a contract with an Italian sports club and authorization from CONI (Italian National Olympic Committee).

Who can apply for it?

You can apply for this permit if:

• You have a contract with an Italian sports company
• You have obtained the nominative declaration of consent from CONI
• You entered Italy with a visa for sports activity

How do you apply for this permit?

It is requested with the postal kit, both for first issue and for renewal.

What rights does it give me? What do I have access to?

With this permit you can:

• Carry out the sports activity for which you have the contract
• Register with the National Health Service (NHS)
• Apply for residency

⚠️ Warning: this permit allows you to work only in the sports field for which it was issued.

How long does this permit last?

The permit lasts as long as your sports contract, up to a maximum of 2 years. You can renew it if the contract is renewed.

When does it expire and can I renew it?

Yes, you can renew it with the postal kit before expiration, submitting the new sports contract and CONI confirmation.

Can I convert it to another permit?

Yes, you can convert it to a permit for employed work reasons.

How much does it cost?

The total cost is approximately 126,46€:

• 80,46€ for the postal payment slip (includes the cost of the electronic permit)
• 30€ to send the postal kit
• 16€ for the revenue stamp
