The residence permit for natural disasters (Art. 20bis, Immigration Consolidated Act) is given to foreigners who cannot return to their country because there is a serious emergency โ ๏ธ (such as earthquakes, wars, natural disasters) that makes it dangerous to live there.
This permit is different from asylum application and you do not need to apply for international protection.
You can apply for this permit if:
The situation must be exceptional and temporary but also very dangerous.
You must submit the application to the Police Headquarters (Questura) in the area where you live.
You must go directly to the Police Headquarters (Questura) and request an appointment
After you apply, the Police Headquarters (Questura) can check if there really is a dangerous situation in your country, and then will decide.
